When I wrote Feather, I didn't exactly know how to contain it - it was bigger than me emotionally. I realized that I needed to let it go, allow it, and give it expression after I understood exactly what I was going through at that time, and what it symbolized for me. I'm glad I didn't give up on it, and that I let it show me a way - a certain perspective that allowed me to understand myself again.
